1. Who we are

Bedroom Artist Academy is a music-education membership operated by Jason R. Media LLC. In this policy, “Academy,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Bedroom Artist Academy and Jason R. Media LLC.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies when you visit our site, create or use an Academy account, purchase or manage access, watch lessons, download resources, submit files or forms, request support, or use connected community features. It does not govern a third party’s own service or privacy practices.

3. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information created through your use of the Academy, and limited technical information needed to operate and protect the service.

  • Account and contact information, such as your email address, account identifiers, and authentication activity.

  • Purchase and membership information, such as your selected plan, subscription status, transaction identifiers, trial or discount status, and renewal or cancellation history. Payment processors handle full payment-card details; we do not need to store your full card number.

  • Course activity, such as lesson access, downloads, feature use, and progress-related events needed to deliver and support the Academy.

  • Content you submit, including files, uploads, forms, revisions, support requests, and related messages.

  • Connected-service information when you choose a feature such as Discord, including the identifiers and status needed to connect or maintain that feature.

  • Technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, requested pages, error logs, and security signals.

4. How we use information

  • Create and authenticate accounts and keep course access in sync with membership status.

  • Process purchases, trials, renewals, cancellations, and member benefits.

  • Deliver lessons, downloads, uploads, submissions, revisions, support, and community features.

  • Send transactional messages and, where permitted, course updates or marketing messages. You can unsubscribe from marketing email without disabling essential account messages.

  • Prevent abuse, investigate errors, secure the service, enforce our terms, and comply with law.

  • Understand and improve the Academy’s content, reliability, and member experience.

5. Course in a Box and our service providers

Bedroom Artist Academy runs on Course in a Box infrastructure. To provide the Academy, information may be processed by Course in a Box and the services that power it, including AuthBox for authentication, Cloudflare for application logic, file storage, and video delivery, and Framer for the website experience. Payment processors handle checkout and billing. We may also use email-delivery, analytics, support, and community providers such as Discord when those features are used. These providers process information for their role in delivering the service and are subject to their own terms and privacy obligations.

6. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers acting for us; when you ask us to connect a third-party feature; to comply with law or protect rights, safety, and security; or as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of the business. We share only what is reasonably needed for the relevant purpose.

7. Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Academy, maintain accurate business and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Retention periods vary by data type. Content or records may remain in backups for a limited period after deletion from active systems.

8. Cookies and similar technology

The site and its providers may use cookies, local storage, or similar technology for sign-in, security, preferences, checkout continuity, performance, and analytics. Blocking essential storage may prevent account or course features from working. Browser controls can be used to manage nonessential cookies where available.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use a secure email account and protect any device used to access the Academy.

10. International processing

The Academy and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.

11. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection, and to appeal or complain to a regulator. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security, transaction, or fraud-prevention reasons. You may also cancel a subscription through the available account or billing controls and unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in the message.

12. Children’s privacy

The Academy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and address it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Academy, our providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes may also be communicated through the site, account, or email when appropriate.

14. Contact us

Questions or privacy requests can be sent to jason.r@uky.edu. Please describe what you need and the email address associated with your Academy account so we can respond appropriately.
